Lenses, frames and lab work are collected in the evening and delivered overnight — on the shelf before the first appointment of the day.
We move goods between optical labs, wholesalers and practices across France and the Benelux. The pattern is the same everywhere: work leaves the lab at the end of the day and has to be in the practice before it opens — not at some point during the morning.
A lens that arrives at 11:00 has missed the appointment it was made for, and prescription work is made for one wearer, so there is no replacement on a shelf. The round is planned backwards from the opening time, every job is scanned at each handover, and delivery is signed for.
Single-lens jobs and complete glazing orders, frames and display stock, repairs and returns to the lab. Optical work is small, high-value and fragile — light enough to be mishandled and expensive enough that a loss cannot simply be reordered overnight.
A fixed collection time at the lab each evening, a night sort, and a delivery tied to the practice's opening rather than to a half-day window. Practice chains and independents sit on the same round, so a branch is not waiting on a central depot to redistribute its own order.
Evening collection — the run that puts the morning's work on the shelf.
